Our suggestion: choose your Kent base around the journey home after play, then reserve accommodation with terms that suit your plans.

Tickets
Buy through the official ticket page. The organiser currently advertises £40 adult tickets, £20 youth tickets for ages 16–24 and free under-16 tickets. Select the actual day and junior ticket before paying; the public headline is not a promise that every ticket product costs the same. A transfer function does not mean every private resale is authorised. Avoid social-media screenshots and unsolicited ticket offers. Read the organiser’s transfer and resale conditions first.
Official tickets and current admission terms
Check the event, year, day and age category. Avoid ticket screenshots and unsolicited resale offers. Use only the organiser’s permitted transfer or resale route.
Tickets, youth prices and choosing a day
The official 2027 ticket page currently marks general-admission days and bundles Sold Out. Its 2027 ticket grid lists Wednesday adult admission at £18 and youth admission at £9, Thursday and Friday at £40 and £20, and Saturday and Sunday at £44 and £22. The venue announcement defines youth as ages 16–24 and says under-16s go free. These are the advertised figures checked in October 2026; follow the booking journey for the selected day's availability and the final order total.
The official page also advertises five-day and weekend bundles. Compare those with the days you will actually attend, rather than assuming a multi-day product is automatically best. Add the relevant junior tickets to the order, and read the accompanying-adult conditions before bringing children. Keep evidence of eligibility if buying an age-based ticket. The public pages contain mixed stock labels, so an individual day's status should be checked in the live checkout.
Our suggestion: Wednesday suits a first visit focused on learning the venue and watching preparation. Thursday or Friday suits someone who wants meaningful championship golf while following a wider choice of players. Sunday is the choice for the presentation and decisive finish. Hospitality is a separate purchase: check whether its dining, sheltered space and viewing access justify the cost for your group. The official hospitality page invites interest for 2027 packages; do not assume a general admission ticket includes those areas.

Confirmed: 2027 daily ticket availability, checked 19 October 2026. Only use authorised channels; an unofficial seller’s listing does not establish that a ticket will be valid. Ask the organiser’s ticket team about any subsequent official release.
Hospitality and upgrades
Official hospitality and upgrades: Register interest; packages not yet launched. Premium food and drink, exclusive lounges and course views advertised in general terms; named products and precise inclusions not yet published.
Check how parking passes are issued. Some drinks allowances have limited serving hours. Check which viewing areas your premium ticket actually includes.
Official hospitality and package buying information
Check package parking and transfers before paying.
Confirm your package’s admission days before booking: the 2027 hospitality page shows 29 July–1 August, while the hospitality enquiry form shows 28 July–1 August. The public ticket programme includes Wednesday practice; that does not automatically establish a hospitality package’s access.
Getting there
For AIG Women's Open 2027 at Royal St George's, plan the station or airport transfer as part of the outward booking. Save both directions. Check the final event approach.
Rail to Sandwich and the final approach
Southeastern's Sandwich station information confirms the rail station serving the town, and its live service information includes London St Pancras International trains. Use the operator's planner for your actual arrival and departure dates. A rail journey to Sandwich does not by itself settle the final approach to the public entrance: the event's spectator gates and any temporary shuttle arrangements must be considered separately.
Use the organiser’s 2027 travel plan, gate map and any published station shuttle timetable for your arrival. Our suggestion: reserve a room in a base you can reach comfortably and leave your local transfer flexible until that information appears. The special rail reservations used for the men’s Open in 2021 do not apply to this championship.
If you are staying in Deal, Ramsgate, Margate or Folkestone, compare the complete rail journey into Sandwich with a pre-arranged road transfer. Check the final service back to your actual station, including any change, rather than stopping at the departure board for the first train. Leave a margin after the golf for walking out, entrance queues in reverse and a slower-than-expected connection. For Sunday, decide whether you are willing to leave before the trophy presentation if a fixed train requires it.
Road travel, airports and parking
Royal St George's is beside Sandwich on the east Kent coast. Driving can be a sensible choice for families or visitors carrying more luggage, but tournament traffic arrangements can differ sharply from normal club access. The 2027 public parking location, any park-and-ride plan and parking charges have not yet been established in the sources linked below. Wait for the championship's instructions before buying a parking product or choosing a drop-off point.
Our suggestion: separate the journey into your Kent base from the daily journey to the golf. A property with parking may solve the first problem while leaving the second unresolved. Ask whether parking is included for every night, whether there are vehicle restrictions and whether you can leave the car after check-out on your last golf day. Do not ask a driver to wait on a residential road near the course entrance.
For a flight arrival, London airports are options to compare through their own journey planners and onward rail services. Heathrow and Gatwick require an onward journey across or around London before reaching east Kent. London City may also be worth comparing against your departure airport. Choose by the whole arrival chain, including baggage and the final train, rather than the airfare alone. An overnight arrival before your golf day removes the pressure of trying to land and reach the course that morning.
Southeastern’s destination guide gives about 1 hour 40 minutes from London St Pancras International to Sandwich: typical non-event-day time; allow longer on event days. Use the operator’s journey planner for your date. From Heathrow, compare the Piccadilly line to King’s Cross St Pancras before the Southeastern leg; from Gatwick, compare Thameslink to St Pancras. Allow for the airport arrival and cross-London journey as separate legs.
The mapped pedestrian route from Sandwich railway station to the club area is about 2.5 km, with a routing estimate of roughly 35 minutes. This is a normal walking estimate; the championship’s entrance and traffic plan may change the final approach. View the OpenStreetMap walking route, then follow the organiser’s spectator signs.
On the day
Royal St George’s is in Sandwich. Use Sandwich station and the championship’s final pedestrian route to the club, rather than a Lytham entrance plan. The 2027 key-information page is the place to check the published spectator approach.
The course and site layout
Use the AIG Women's Open 2027 at Royal St George's course guide to choose your viewing holes, then the edition-specific spectator map for entrances, public crossings, grandstands, fan facilities and toilets. The final 2027 layout is not yet published.

The championship and its Kent debut
The AIG Women's Open is one of women's golf's five major championships. Royal St George's hosts it for the first time in 2027, bringing the championship to the Kent coast. The R&A confirms the public event dates as 28 July–1 August. Wednesday is the final practice and pro-am day; the four championship rounds follow from Thursday to Sunday. That distinction matters when requesting leave, choosing a ticket and deciding which nights to book.
The official championship explanation describes 72-hole stroke play: each competitor plays 18 holes a day and the lowest total wins, with a play-off if necessary. For a visitor, this means several stories unfold simultaneously around the course. Early in the week you can watch a broad field; towards Sunday the battle at the top becomes easier to follow. A leaderboard or official scoring app helps connect the individual shots in front of you to the overall championship.
Our suggestion: allow two golf days if this is your main summer trip. Use the first to learn the spectator paths and the second to revisit favourite positions. Sandwich also makes a good base for a longer Kent break, especially when travelling with someone who wants a mixture of golf, coast and town time.
A day at the event
2026 edition, for guidance. First-come public grandstands, Festival Fan Village big screen, water refills and shop. Cashless: cards for food, drink and shop purchases. Over 30 litres prohibited; no left luggage. No glass, brought-in alcohol or folding chairs. Assistance animals permitted. Read the spectator rules.
A suggested sequence for your day
- After gates open: clear security and collect the site map.
- Check the draw and find the practice range viewing.
- Follow an early group or settle beside a favourite hole.
- Take food, water and toilet breaks between viewing sessions.
- Choose afternoon holes with your return walk in mind.
- Leave in time for your booked return connection.
Watching the links: a day beside the ropes
Our suggestion: begin with the practice area or an accessible early viewing position, then follow a group for a modest stretch. Royal St George's is a links venue, so exposed ground and uneven walking are part of the outing. Keep your route manageable and use the authorised paths. Choose a place where you can see a shot's landing or finish rather than standing behind a large crowd simply because it surrounds a famous player.
At crossings, wait until a marshal allows you through and keep moving once released. Stay still and quiet while a player addresses the ball. Never retrieve or move a ball that has come towards spectators. If a shout of fore is heard, protect your head immediately. Binoculars can make a settled viewing spot more useful, particularly for someone who would rather avoid repeatedly chasing groups.
The 2027 gate opening times, public grandstand positions and seating arrangements remain unpublished in the material checked. Last year's championship offered public grandstands on a first-arrival basis, but the new venue needs its own map. Our suggestion: select one walking session and one longer seated or stationary session, with a meal between them. The day is easier to enjoy when your feet and attention both receive a break.
Phones, cameras and packing for Kent
Read the 2027 ground regulations before leaving home, especially if you want to bring a camera or seat. The previous championship's 2026 rules allowed non-commercial still photography without disruption, banned flash and video, imposed camera-lens restrictions and excluded oversized bags above 30 litres. They also excluded folding chairs, glass and alcohol brought from outside. Those were 2026 terms; the 2027 ticket conditions will govern your visit.
Our suggestion: travel with a compact day bag, comfortable shoes with grip, waterproof jacket and trousers, a warm layer and sun protection. Coastal wind can make a stationary spell feel colder than the walk to the course. Keep spare socks at your accommodation and put electronics inside a waterproof pouch. A small power bank is useful if your phone holds your ticket and provides scoring throughout the day.
The 2026 championship used a separate ticket app as well as its scoring app. Follow the 2027 delivery email so you install the correct ticket system and complete any transfer before arriving. Do not assume a screenshot will pass a ticket scanner. Silence your phone before approaching the ropes, and step away from play for calls. Keep enough battery for the journey home, not just the last putt.
Our suggestion for Aig Womens Open: start near the practice range if spectator access is open, watch an early group, then settle by a closing hole after a food break. Check the leaderboard before moving. Leave enough time for your booked return.
Getting back to your accommodation
For a Sandwich or Deal stay, check the walking route from the designated Royal St George’s exit as well as the last Southeastern train. A Canterbury base needs a complete dated connection search, including any change of train. The 2027 final shuttle, finishing time and traffic restrictions are not yet published. Save an earlier departure as a fallback, and agree a taxi collection point away from restricted course roads. After dark, follow lit public routes rather than cutting across unfamiliar links.

Where to stay: Sandwich and Deal
Our suggestion: Sandwich is the first place to compare for a golf-centred stay. A room in the town lets you make an evening of the historic streets and river area, while keeping your planning focused on a relatively local final transfer. Check the property's precise position; an address described as Sandwich can still involve a substantial journey to the town centre or event entrance. Ask about breakfast timing if an early start is important.
Deal is a useful alternative for visitors who want a seaside evening as part of the trip. Compare a central room with one farther along the coast, and look carefully at the route to the railway station if you intend to use trains. Our suggestion: spend the evening near your accommodation after a long golf day, rather than adding another return taxi journey just for dinner. A short seafront stroll can be enough of an outing.
Both bases merit an early accommodation search once you know your ticket dates. Compare the cancellation deadline, prepayment, room layout and whether a late arrival is possible. A cheaper headline rate with an awkward transfer or an extra night's requirement can work out less convenient overall. For families, check actual bed arrangements and the rules for children instead of relying on the search filter alone.
Where to stay: Canterbury and the wider coast
Our suggestion: Canterbury suits a mixed holiday where the golf shares time with a city break. Look for a property convenient for the station or your chosen road departure, depending on the transfer you intend to use. It is a different proposition from sleeping in Sandwich: build the extra journey into each golf day and avoid an overambitious sightseeing schedule before a full afternoon outside.
Ramsgate and Margate offer coastal alternatives north of Sandwich. Compare each property's position against its station, evening food options and parking. A seafront description is useful for the holiday element but says little about reaching a championship gate. Our suggestion: choose Ramsgate or Margate if you would enjoy the coast even without the golf; that makes a longer stay more rewarding than treating the town simply as an overflow bed.
Folkestone is another base to compare, particularly if your wider trip involves the Channel coast. Again, price the full daily transfer before committing. A two-person taxi bill over several days can change an apparently attractive room comparison. If your group is splitting between golf and other activities, ensure the non-golf travellers can get around without the same car. Search all six bases with the same party size and dates so that the results remain comparable.

Evenings, food and a manageable itinerary
Our suggestion: keep the first evening straightforward. Arrive, check in, find breakfast supplies if needed and agree the next morning's departure. Sandwich is well suited to a gentle town walk; Deal gives you a seafront setting; Canterbury offers a fuller city evening. Ramsgate, Margate and Folkestone can turn the tournament into a coastal break. Choose restaurants by their own current menus and opening hours, and reserve if your group needs a fixed table.
Avoid setting dinner immediately after the advertised end of play. The last group, a play-off, weather and the movement of spectators can all affect when you actually leave. A flexible meal near your room is often more enjoyable than watching the clock beside a green. If children are coming, establish an earlier food option so that they are not relying on an adult's late golf timetable.
Within the course, the latest fully published spectator guide is for 2026 at Royal Lytham & St Annes. It described catering and water refills, but those locations do not transfer to Sandwich. Use the 2027 map when it appears to identify food, toilets and the route back to your entrance. Decide on a meeting point with a recognisable landmark; mobile messages are a useful backup, not the whole plan.
Sandwich: food and drink
- The King’s Arms — An inn on Strand Street serving seasonal dishes.
- The Waiting Room — Drinks and snacks in a former bus waiting room.
- The Toll Bridge — A riverside smokehouse restaurant and bar.
Sandwich Quay — Follow riverside paths from the quay towards the historic town walls. Approximate road distance from the mapped course area: 1.5 miles; view the mapped route.
Accessibility and families
The R&A’s published 2026 accessibility guide describes Lytham, not the 2027 Kent site. Contact accessibility@randa.org about the Royal St George’s parking approach, companion admission, mobility hire and viewing routes before committing to travel. Check that an accessible station arrival connects with a usable championship entrance.
Official accessibility / event contact information
Accessibility and planning around your needs
The R&A's published accessibility contact is accessibility@randa.org. Contact the championship before paying for travel if you need accessible parking, assistance from the station, step-free entry, a mobility device, a companion ticket or information about viewing platforms. Ask for the 2027 Royal St George's accessibility guide specifically. The previous venue's platform positions and entrance routes cannot answer those questions for Sandwich.
Our suggestion: describe the complete visit when asking for help: how you will arrive, the device you use, whether you can cross grass or a temporary surface, and whether you need an accessible toilet with particular equipment. Ask how far the accessible arrival point is from the viewing area you intend to use. A platform can be helpful while the path leading to it remains the part that determines whether a day is manageable.
For accommodation, request room and bathroom details directly from the property. Confirm lift access, door widths or shower arrangements according to your needs, and ask about parking or taxi access. Keep the written replies. If your trip includes rail, arrange Passenger Assist with the operator and check the station facilities for both ends. Our suggestion: favour a simpler journey with fewer changes over a nominally closer room that creates several difficult transfers.
