Our suggestion: choose your accommodation around the last part of the journey to the course, then add Dublin or a ferry crossing to suit your wider holiday.

Tickets
Official tickets and current admission terms
Check the event, year, day and age category. Avoid ticket screenshots and unsolicited resale offers. Use only the organiser’s permitted transfer or resale route.
Official tickets and the price bands
Confirmed: 2027 tickets are on sale through the DP World Tour. Its official page advertises general admission from €40, Ticket+ from €145, River Club from €389 and Green on 18 from €529. These are starting prices displayed when checked in October 2026; choose your exact day and product to see the payable total and conditions.
The advertised Ticket+ offer combines course admission with specified viewing areas and refreshments. River Club is a hosted experience associated with the hotel restaurant, while Green on 18 centres on hospitality and a view of the closing green. Our suggestion: decide whether you want to roam or settle before paying for a fixed hospitality base. Compare the included admission, drinks, meals, parking and seating rather than treating every premium product as interchangeable.
The general-admission product lists a Wednesday-to-Sunday season option at €170. Check whether attending all those days suits your stamina and travel budget. Junior, youth, under-25 and companion terms should be read in the live checkout or confirmed with the ticket office; no separate 2027 under-25 price has been established here. Buy only through the official event route and keep the account email used for the purchase accessible.
Hospitality and upgrades
The official 2027 products are already available. River Club is based in the K Club Hotel's Barton Grill and advertises breakfast, a three-course lunch with selected wines, afternoon tea, a private bar and specified viewing access. Green on 18 offers dining and a terrace beside the final green, with additional viewing platforms. Starting prices are not the price for every day or every booking size. Read the selected product's date, VAT treatment and cancellation terms at checkout. River Club specifies one reserved VIP parking space per two guests; do not buy a second parking product until you know what your package includes. General admission, Ticket+ and hospitality give different levels of access.

Getting there
For Amgen Irish Open 2027, plan the station or airport transfer as part of the outward booking. Save both directions. Check the final event approach.
Dublin Airport and your onward journey
Our suggestion: Dublin is the first airport to compare for a K Club trip. Price the flight together with bags, the onward transfer and any hire car, rather than choosing on airfare alone. A late arrival may favour a first night near the airport followed by a daylight journey to Kildare, particularly if your party has children or mobility needs.
Confirmed: the venue identifies its address as Straffan, County Kildare. Give that address and your accommodation's own location to a transfer company. Ask for the full fare, waiting policy, luggage capacity and the tournament's permitted drop-off point. The everyday hotel entrance and the spectator arrival route may differ during a large event.
If hiring a car, look carefully at collection hours, the vehicle's baggage space, fuel policy and the cost of any additional driver. Keep the first journey simple and allow for busy roads around Dublin. A group staying together can share a transfer, but agree who is attending which days before paying. For a party with non-golf plans in the city, separating the airport journey from the daily course journey may be more practical than retaining one car for everybody's movements.
From Holyhead or Liverpool by ferry
Confirmed: Irish Ferries operates the Holyhead–Dublin route. It is the direct crossing to compare for travellers bringing a car from North Wales and much of England. Check the selected sailing's vehicle and foot-passenger conditions, check-in deadline and identification requirements. The crossing is one part of the journey: include the drive or rail journey to Holyhead and the transfer out of Dublin Port.
Confirmed: Stena Line offers Birkenhead–Belfast sailings. For an Irish Open trip, this means arriving in Northern Ireland and continuing south towards Kildare; it is not a direct Liverpool–Dublin passenger service. Our suggestion: choose it if an overnight cabin, your starting location or a wider Irish itinerary makes the longer onward journey worthwhile. Compare the full door-to-door plan against Holyhead rather than comparing crossing fares alone.
With a vehicle, tell the ferry operator its correct dimensions and mention roof boxes or unusual equipment. Without one, plan the port-to-station connection and the final K Club transfer before buying. Ferry days work best with generous margins. A road closure or a late finish at golf should not force you to choose between missing the closing holes and arriving too late to check in.
Without a car
Compare the Go-Ahead Ireland route 120 to Straffan with rail to Hazelhatch & Celbridge, Sallins & Naas or Maynooth followed by a pre-booked taxi. The bus does not deliver you to an event gate, so plan the village-to-course leg too. The retained operator timetable lists final Straffan–Dublin departures at 22:31 Monday–Saturday and 22:01 Sunday/public holidays; check the timetable for your date.
The K Club advertises an approximately 30-minute drive from Dublin Airport in normal traffic; allow more during the tournament. Confirmed: venue travel context. The M50 uses barrier-free tolling: check vehicle payment arrangements with your hire company and eFlow.
The operator’s route 120 PDF, effective 24 November 2025, gives the late Straffan–Dublin Bachelors Walk journey as about 37 minutes on weekdays and Sunday, or 43 minutes on Saturday. Typical non-event-day time; allow longer on event days. Check the current route and departure in the operator timetable before choosing your course exit time.
On the day
2027 spectator entrance, car parks, drop-off and any rail transfer to be published closer to the event. The hotel postcode alone is not an event car-park instruction.
For Amgen Irish Open 2027, use the signed event drop-off and collection arrangements. Agree the taxi return in advance. Check permitted event collection points.
Trains, roads and tournament transport
Confirmed: Garda instructions for the K Club's 2025 Irish Open directed traffic along specified approaches and told drivers to follow event signs and Garda directions. Those instructions belong to that edition. Final 2027 car-park, park-and-ride, shuttle and road-management details have not been established from the current sources.
Our suggestion: use the official 2027 spectator directions when released, even if a navigation app offers a shorter lane. Save the relevant parking pass and look for the destination named on it. Build time for the queue into the car park, walking or shuttle travel and security. A published tee time tells you when a player starts, not when to arrive at a distant parking field.
Rail can bring you into the wider Dublin and Kildare network, but you still need a course connection. Before choosing a base in Maynooth, Naas or Celbridge, identify the actual departure point and transport mode for your chosen day. Do not assume a town's rail station has an event shuttle. If booking a taxi, arrange an identifiable return meeting point and ask about event-day access restrictions. Keep a second contact method if phone coverage becomes busy.
The course and site layout
Use the Amgen Irish Open 2027 course guide to choose your viewing holes, then the edition-specific spectator map for entrances, public crossings, grandstands, fan facilities and toilets. The final 2027 layout is not yet published.
Official spectator information / map; check the edition
Ireland’s national open in Kildare
Confirmed: the DP World Tour lists the 2027 Amgen Irish Open at The K Club in Straffan, County Kildare. It is a professional individual stroke-play tournament: players build a score across the championship rather than contesting the head-to-head matches used in the Ryder Cup. For spectators, that means several groups are on the course at once and the leaderboard connects what is happening at different holes.
Our suggestion: plan a day around a few clear priorities. Follow one group for part of its round, spend time at a green to compare approach shots and keep some energy for the closing stretch. You can enjoy the national-open atmosphere without chasing a favourite player from the first tee until the last putt.
The K Club is an inland resort rather than a coastal links. Your trip therefore needs a workable road connection to Straffan even if the longer journey is by train or air. A city-centre hotel can be a good holiday choice, but it does not remove that final transfer. Confirm it before deciding that the room with the lowest headline rate is the best overall base.
July dates and the previous edition
Confirmed: championship rounds are scheduled for 1–4 July 2027. The official season-ticket product also lists admission covering Wednesday 30 June through Sunday 4 July. Read the actual day or package you are buying; a tournament week can contain activities outside the four scoring rounds.
The previous edition, in 2026, was at Doonbeg in County Clare in September. That matters when you search for travel advice: its roads, car parks, public transport and accommodation areas are different from the K Club's. Use the Kildare details for this trip. The 2025 event was at The K Club, and Garda travel information from that edition helps explain the need for managed approach routes, but its instructions have a different date.
Our suggestion: reserve an arrival night before your first paid day if coming from Britain. A full championship day is more enjoyable after breakfast near your base than after an overnight crossing and a rushed drive. Consider staying after Sunday as well if the final round is central to your trip. Leaving margin for a delayed finish keeps the trophy presentation from colliding with a fixed ferry or airport check-in.
Watching The K Club without wearing yourself out
Confirmed: the 2027 ticket page identifies premium viewing on the 12th and 16th greens and hospitality overlooking the 18th. Access to those areas follows the product terms. A general-admission ticket gives you the walking experience described by the organiser, while a premium platform should be judged by its particular access and location.
Our suggestion: start with a short reconnaissance loop, noting toilets, food, the exit and a place to rest. Then follow a group for several holes or choose a green where you can watch a sequence of approach shots. Give yourself time to understand why players choose different lines instead of moving on after every putt.
For the finish, choose whether you want a close view of the green or a broader sense of the closing stretch. Arrive before the leaders if a particular public viewing position matters to you. Keep sightlines clear for shorter spectators, obey ropes and only cross where marshals permit. Do not hurry through a crowd while a player is preparing a stroke. The enjoyment comes from watching the golf, not from trying to prove you have visited every hole in one afternoon.
A day at the event
Build your Amgen Irish Open 2027 visit around a manageable viewing route, breaks and the return connection. Find food, drinking water and toilets on arrival. Check the shop, screens and family activities on the map.
A suggested sequence for your day
- After gates open: clear security and collect the site map.
- Check the draw and find the practice range viewing.
- Follow an early group or settle beside a favourite hole.
- Take food, water and toilet breaks between viewing sessions.
- Choose afternoon holes with your return walk in mind.
- Leave in time for your booked return connection.
Gates, bags, phones and food
The complete 2027 gate schedule, prohibited-items list, phone and camera policy and public catering map have not yet been established from the official pages consulted. Our suggestion: make the tournament's new spectator information your final packing checklist, especially if taking a camera, folding chair, substantial bag or food for a medical need.
For a useful comparison, the 2026 event's digital-ticket instructions used a My Tour account and the email address used to buy admission. Practise finding your own 2027 ticket as soon as it is issued. Keep the phone charged, carry a suitable power bank if permitted and ensure every adult understands how the party's tickets are held. A screenshot may not be valid for every ticketing system, so follow the issuer's access instructions.
Take comfortable waterproof footwear, a light waterproof layer, something warmer and sun protection. Keep the bag small enough to carry all day. Put phones on silent and ask before photographing play; a permitted phone does not automatically mean unrestricted filming. Plan a food and water stop before following a long stretch of holes. Read the current rules before bringing alcohol or a picnic, and use the correct bins around the course.
Our suggestion for Irish Open: start near the practice range if spectator access is open, watch an early group, then settle by a closing hole after a food break. Check the leaderboard before moving. Leave enough time for your booked return.
Getting back to your accommodation
For a Dublin room, work backwards from the last train or bus serving the part of the city where you are staying, then allow for the separate transfer from Straffan. Maynooth and Hazelhatch are useful rail stations only if you have confirmed how to reach them after the golf. An old tournament coach advert is not a booking for 2027. The organiser's 2027 station links, taxi pick-up points and final departures have not yet been established.
For Kildare bases such as Maynooth, Celbridge, Naas or Kildare town, compare a pre-booked taxi with any official tournament transfer once announced. Arrange a specific collection window, passenger count and agreed meeting point; keep the driver's contact details. Do not tell a driver to meet you at the hotel entrance if the event traffic plan diverts spectators elsewhere. A room that looks nearby on a map can still need a substantial detour during the departure rush.
Use Iarnród Éireann's journey planner for your exact return date and TFI for the bus leg; save an earlier usable service as well as the final one. Check the July 2027 timetable before choosing your final return. The 2026 Irish Open was at Doonbeg: its final-shuttle and parking instructions cannot be used for The K Club. If staying to the trophy presentation matters, keeping the Sunday night avoids making your last holes depend on a tight airport or ferry deadline. Use lit pavements after dark; do not use rural approach roads as a substitute for a confirmed transfer.

Five bases with different advantages
Our suggestion: Straffan is the place to start if minimising the daily journey matters most. Check the property's actual relationship to the spectator entrance, because being close to the resort on a map does not establish a walkable public route. Ask about breakfast, luggage storage and whether a vehicle will be needed after dark.
Naas is worth comparing for a town-based stay with evenings independent of the resort. Maynooth can suit a party that wants a Kildare base and time elsewhere in the county. Celbridge is another area to compare for the Straffan journey. For all three, settle the daily driving or taxi arrangement before committing to a non-refundable room; their value depends on the connection you can use.
Dublin suits travellers who want city restaurants, attractions and transport links alongside one or two golf days. Include the daily commute and return fare in your budget. Book a location for the connections you will actually make, not simply for the word Dublin in the address. Across all five areas, compare cancellation deadlines, parking charges, beds, kitchen access and the total for the party. A refundable reservation can give you flexibility while the event transport plan develops.

Make a weekend of it
- Castletown House and Parklands — A Celbridge heritage visit; check house access separately from the grounds.
- Maynooth Castle — Make time for the castle beside Maynooth town centre.
- Irish National Stud & Gardens — An alternative Kildare day centred on horses and gardens.
- St Brigid’s Cathedral — Explore Kildare town and check the cathedral’s visiting arrangements.
Evenings in Kildare or Dublin
Our suggestion: choose accommodation that makes the evening easy after a long walk. If you are driving each morning, a meal within a comfortable walk of your room can be more valuable than another outing. Ask your host where food is available on the specific nights you are staying, particularly if you expect to return late on Sunday.
For Straffan, keep the plan local and establish whether dinner requires booking. In Naas, Maynooth or Celbridge, leave time to get back, shower and change before committing to a table. A course-side lunch and a town-centre dinner are very different parts of the day; avoid purchasing hospitality with a generous meal and then booking another large meal too early.
For a Dublin stay, make the city the evening destination rather than trying to add a second county excursion. A mixed group can meet back at the hotel before dinner, freeing non-spectators to enjoy their own day. Confirm the room's late-entry procedure if you split up. If you want a celebratory drink, arrange a driver or taxi before the first round rather than trying to solve that problem at the end of the night.
Straffan: food and drink
- The Barton Restaurant — Dining at The K Club.
- Victorian Tea Rooms — Food and cakes at Straffan Courtyard.
- Quirc Café — A café and restaurant in Straffan.
Naas: food and drink
- Neighbourhood — Modern Irish dining in central Naas.
- The Bistro at Lawlor’s — A hotel bistro at Poplar Square.
- Las Radas — Wine and tapas on New Row.
Travelling from the UK
- Common Travel Area rights depend on citizenship, not residence.
- Carry a valid passport or Irish passport card. Children need one too. The specified ferry routes require this from 28 September 2026.
- Stena's Dublin and Rosslare routes now require valid passports.
- Carry healthcare entitlement evidence and suitable travel insurance.
- The Republic uses euros; Northern Ireland uses sterling.
- Plugs and sockets are the same as in the UK, so no adaptor is needed.
- Drive left; Republic speed limits use kilometres per hour.
- Check toll payments, car-hire permission and event parking.
- Review roaming charges and download your return-journey details.
- Emergency services: call 112 or 999.
Accessibility and families
Contact the Amgen Irish Open 2027 organiser before buying if you need companion admission, mobility hire, accessible parking or a shorter step-free route. Check junior tickets and accompanying-adult conditions for the booked edition.
Official accessibility / event contact information
Accessible attendance and family planning
Our suggestion: contact the tournament before buying if you need accessible parking, a companion ticket, mobility transport or a viewing platform. Explain your needs in terms of the journey you want to make, including whether you can transfer from a wheelchair, how far you can comfortably walk and whether you need step-free toilets close to a viewing area.
The final 2027 accessibility arrangements and gate-to-course routes were not established from the available event pages. Ask the organiser which entrance to use and whether evidence or advance registration is required for parking or admission assistance. Get essential arrangements in writing so your party can refer to the same information on arrival.
For children, choose a manageable day with room for snacks, toilets and leaving early. A season ticket does not oblige the family to stay until the last group every evening. Agree a meeting point and show children how to recognise an official. Keep well away from the path of shots and wait for permission to cross. A shorter visit built around good views and an easy meal can leave a much happier memory than a forced march to the final hole.
Ferry routes and passport requirements
For an Irish Open ferry trip, from 28 September 2026, every passenger, including children, needs a valid passport or Irish passport card on Stena Line’s Holyhead–Dublin and Fishguard–Rosslare services and Irish Ferries’ Holyhead–Dublin and Pembroke–Rosslare services. Driving licences are not accepted on these routes. Confirmed: Stena passport requirements · Irish Ferries identification requirements.
Other main crossings: Cairnryan–Belfast and Cairnryan–Larne. Birkenhead also has Belfast sailings. Stena’s Liverpool-area Belfast terminal is at Birkenhead. Check the route’s ID rules before continuing into Ireland.
